ZARA Sale Outfit Buys.

January 10, 2014

If you’ve been reading my musings lately, you’ll be all too aware that I’ve just got back from London – and I’m still sulking about the lack of effort I put into my outfits for LCM. Given that I’ve been asked by a couple of magazines to cover LFW for them, I’m already madly planning outfits to ensure that I actually look the part this time. So, instead of writing my essay (currently at 1,000/5,000 words with less than 3 days to go – stellar), I’ve spent the last hour or so conjuring up outfits in my head/on the Internet – my bank account is in peril.

I’m desperately hunting for a co-ordinates set at the moment but, after endlessly hunting the Internet, I haven’t had much luck – so I’ve opted for a different spin on the trend here. Both the coat and the shirt are houndstooth print, which would tick the boxes for that co-ord look I’m after – pop in some chic ankle-grazing trousers and open-toed sandles (toenails would have to be oxblood, definitely) – and I’m in love. Arguably, if I had these in the shop, the love could go down the drain very quickly: I’ve lost far too many outfit lusts to trying them on and then realising I look like a pure pillock, so bare with me on this one…

And oops, I just ordered them…

Total: £123.96

Total Savings: £66

What do you think? Will it work, or has my essay-riddled brain finally lost it?

Ark’s Ridiculous Sale Picks.

December 31, 2013

Well played Ark, I wrote this post primarily because I wanted that bangin’ gif on my blog – just look at that little marvel. Given I have a cracking total of £16 whole pounds in my account, I should really put this under my ‘Pipe-dreamin’ posts, but with the prices this cheap: I could technically afford something! The sale is MASSIVE – arguably larger than Nicki Minaj’s arse, but I’ll leave that for you to decide. So, whilst I carry on with my virtual copywriting mountain, I’ll leave you guys to check these sales out and hopefully shop vicariously through you. Here are my favourite picks:

  • Hearts & Bows Plum Bower Space Dye Cropped Knit (try saying that in one breath…) – was £18.99: now £12

Given everything I’ve bought recently, aside from my nip-tastic red dress, has been blackblackblack. There’s nothing like a good staple piece, so snapping up this throw-together-with-everything piece would be grand. I’d team with an Empty Casket necklace, black platform boots and a kimono.

  • Vero Moda Green Puca Sequin Mini Skirt – was £25.99: now £12

I’m sorry Mr/Miss Ark Stylist, but I’m not with you on this outfit combination one iota – however, I am lusting over that shiny little number. Nothing better that channelling a bit of a slutty Little Mermaid vibe, right? I’d stick with a white graphic shirt and leather jacket, or just black-on-black-on-black. Who’s with me?

  • Vila Black Kindra Military Coat – Was £54.99: now £35

Bargain of the year award goes to…! This is so cheap and yet tasteful looking, that I am very tempted to sack off my New Year plans – simply to stand around Wigan town centre handing these out to underdressed 17-year-olds on King Street. Timeless and pneumonia-free. And a great shield for you to throw over any poor, misguided lass wearing womb-shorts (you know which ones I mean, right?).

  • Hearts & Bows Floral Horilen Devore Velvet Kimono – Was £37.99: now £20

I’d write something meaningful, but the velvet has taken me. This one needs no explanation whatsoever – aside from the explanation of why you haven’t bought one yet.

Dahlia’s Autumn/Winter 2012 Lookbook.

October 1, 2012

I am a Dahlia fanatic – we all know this, despite the fact that I’ve never actually had enough spare cash to buy anything from them yet (soon to change and, by soon, I mean in the next hour – love you, student loan). Anyway, they emailed me the other day with some beautiful images of their Autumn/Winter lookbook so I thought I’d write a post about my favourite looks of the season. The company, ran by sisters Tracey and Leigh, never fails to create gorgeous preppy but sophisticated looks – including delights like pinafores and vintage fabrics.

Passion For Fashion – Moneysupermarket.com Competition Entry Part 2.

September 24, 2012

If you caught my first Moneysupermarket.com post earlier this week, you’ll know that I’ve entered an amazing competition that you can check out here. I’m still without a laptop (how on Earth did I manage to leave it in Leeds!?) so my posts are a little spaced out, given I’m having to use the university computers as and when I can. Anyway, here is my second look for the competition – Outdoor:

September Wish List.

September 18, 2012

I’ve seen a few of these posts knocking around online and, despite the fact that I haven’t done one of these since I was 13 and lime/pink was the height of cool on Piczo layouts, I thought I’d indulge myself and have a go. Now, most of this stuff is most definitely to remain a “wish”, given I have just absolutely maxed myself out as a result of my London Fashion Week trip (so worth it!), but you never know what my student loan will bring…
