Ark’s Ridiculous Sale Picks.

December 31, 2013

Well played Ark, I wrote this post primarily because I wanted that bangin’ gif on my blog – just look at that little marvel. Given I have a cracking total of £16 whole pounds in my account, I should really put this under my ‘Pipe-dreamin’ posts, but with the prices this cheap: I could technically afford something! The sale is MASSIVE – arguably larger than Nicki Minaj’s arse, but I’ll leave that for you to decide. So, whilst I carry on with my virtual copywriting mountain, I’ll leave you guys to check these sales out and hopefully shop vicariously through you. Here are my favourite picks:

  • Hearts & Bows Plum Bower Space Dye Cropped Knit (try saying that in one breath…) – was £18.99: now £12

Given everything I’ve bought recently, aside from my nip-tastic red dress, has been blackblackblack. There’s nothing like a good staple piece, so snapping up this throw-together-with-everything piece would be grand. I’d team with an Empty Casket necklace, black platform boots and a kimono.

  • Vero Moda Green Puca Sequin Mini Skirt – was £25.99: now £12

I’m sorry Mr/Miss Ark Stylist, but I’m not with you on this outfit combination one iota – however, I am lusting over that shiny little number. Nothing better that channelling a bit of a slutty Little Mermaid vibe, right? I’d stick with a white graphic shirt and leather jacket, or just black-on-black-on-black. Who’s with me?

  • Vila Black Kindra Military Coat – Was £54.99: now £35

Bargain of the year award goes to…! This is so cheap and yet tasteful looking, that I am very tempted to sack off my New Year plans – simply to stand around Wigan town centre handing these out to underdressed 17-year-olds on King Street. Timeless and pneumonia-free. And a great shield for you to throw over any poor, misguided lass wearing womb-shorts (you know which ones I mean, right?).

  • Hearts & Bows Floral Horilen Devore Velvet Kimono – Was £37.99: now £20

I’d write something meaningful, but the velvet has taken me. This one needs no explanation whatsoever – aside from the explanation of why you haven’t bought one yet.

Leeds Haul and the Evils of Travelling.

October 2, 2012

Today I went to Leeds to grab a Nando’s with a friend and pick up my laptop (nearly a month after I left it in @whenflowersfall‘s car boot after London Fashion Week). It’s been a lovely day, I managed to switch my studded iPhone clutch from Urban Outfitters, which I really wouldn’t recommend that you purchase, for the following reasons: when I went to buy the first one in London, the cashier recommended that I picked a different one as the studs looked like they were about to fall off – which I did and secondly, to add salt to it, the one I actually bought shed two studs within 3 days of taking it home – then my boyfriend dropped one of them under the floorboards trying to fix it, bless him. Yeah, steer clear of it anyway – it looks very cool but unless you don’t fancy taking your manicured paws off it for one whole second, I’d leave it on the shelf. Sorry Urbies…

OOTD – Grungy Monday.

September 18, 2012

I bought my khaki camou jacket for Leeds/Green Man festival this year and I’ve barely worn it since – so today I thought I’d try and find something in my normal wardrobe that would actually suit it. So, I ended up in my boyfriend’s wardrobe and raided his Bob Dylan shirt – nice! Given my only reason to leave the house today is to come to the uni library to write some posts (here I am!), I went for casual and teamed the shirt with a plain bodycon skirt, brown folded knee high socks and black tights.

London Fashion Week & Timur Kim Show Review.

September 16, 2012

On Thursday, I was absent-mindedly mooching through my Twitter feed as I always do and happened upon a retweeted post about a free ticket going for a London Fashion Week show. So, naturally – I jumped on it. I messaged the girl who posted it, who turned out to be the lovely Sam from WhenFlowersFall, who told me they had a spare ticket to the Timur Kim show – all I needed to do was travel to London with two complete strangers and contribute a bit of petrol money – sold! They had won the tickets in a MakeBelieve competition (a tanning company) and had a spare – don’t mind if I do!

The Best in 2012 Festival Fashion.

July 31, 2012

For those of you who were lucky enough to attend Latitude Festival this year, your festival times may have been and gone – but for those of us looking into the future to the likes of Green Man, Leeds/Reading, End of the Road and Beautiful Days festivals, you need look no further for your festival wardrobe. Whilst festivals, if you’re of the female variety mainly, are often a ALT-off catwalk (props to those who carry off heels/wedges in mud), they also present us with a gargantuan challenge: how the hell do I fit all this shit in a rucksack and still have room for 300 face-wipes, 10 spare lipsticks and a portable loo? The trick to this is to think of your new best friends – layers.
