Parlux 3800 Eco-Friendly Hair Dryer Review (Thanks to SheSaidBeauty!)

September 5, 2012

Twitter is brilliant for competitions. Since joining, I have entered a decent amount and, thus far, I’ve won two sets of gig tickets and now a rather snazzy hair dryer and brush set, thanks to Parlux and SheSaidBeauty! The latter is a reasonably new company who sell subscription beauty boxes – as reviewed here, who also have a really cool social media/networking function where you can review your favourite beauty products, share your blog posts and check out the picks of other users. I love it! Here’s a review of the lovely gift I received, in which I’ll remain completely unbiased so I give you a proper idea of the product!

The hair dryer seems to have nearly fixed my otherwise recently horrendous hair! The ionic technology in the dryer makes your hair smoother and sleeker by calming down the particles – thus flattening them and leaving your hair super soft and manageable (something I can rarely refer to my hair as!). It is also incredibly quick due to its 2100w “reduced-drying time” motor, leaving me extra time to get ready after drying my thick, boob-reaching hair. I’ve yet to check out the nozzles that came with the dryer due to being in a rush yesterday and, in all honesty, I think I’ll have to do some YouTube tutorial searching – I’m not very good with hair, mine just likes to sit in a big black bush around my head, but I’m sure I’ll eventually be able to do a fancy blow dry with them. The fact that the dryer is eco-friendly is really cool and something I’d never even thought about in regards to hair dryers before, leaving me feeling a little less guilty about the impact my daily routine has on the environment. Finally, the style itself is lovely – it brings a nice new level of salon chic to my desk that my old £15 BaByliss dryer just didn’t deliver. The sleek white is snazzy and the dryer itself is comfortable to hold – albeit a little heavy, but I am incredibly weak and pansy-esque.

I would definitely recommend this hair dryer to someone who’s looking to smooth out their hair, whilst also being conscious of the world around them and the impact that they have upon it. Admittedly, if I hadn’t won the product, I would never have purchased it – £79 for a hair dryer is just too much for my student budget. Hopefully this one won’t explode in my boyfriend’s face like my last one did!

Again, thank you to @SheSaidBeauty and @Parlux for my prizes!
